among the beauties

and mysteries of the earth

are never alone or weary

of life.”

Ways I Work…

I come alive partnering with the courageous ones who seek guidance looking at the tender, deep places in their lives.  I see therapy as an opportunity to reconnect with your wholeness and sense of belonging.  I believe in the innate healing power of each individual, in the power of transformation, and in finding strengths from within to have greater access to joy, fulfillment, meaning, and connection.

I practice from a trauma-informed perspective and am grounded in the assumption that everyone is doing the best they can to tend to the joys and struggles of life.   I also hold space for you to investigate past coping strategies that may not be serving you well at this moment-- so movement is towards healing, change, and transformation.  I take care to tune into how identity, culture, power dynamics, and larger systems impact you and approach this with steadfastness and humility.  I am committed to approaching my work through a justice and anti-oppression lens.

I am a strong proponent of self-compassion, dedicated to developing collaborative and trusting relationships with those I work with, and often use EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, and Nature Connection for increased attunement to the mind/body connection, and to promote self-awareness and well-being.   In addition to office or virtual formats, I offer individual and group sessions in outdoor settings, giving nature-based invitations that draw on one’s experiences with the natural world to be an ally and resource.  Through personal experience and guiding others, I have found that nature is a clear and compassionate mirror for discovering and cultivating the essence of one’s true self and sense of belonging.

I have an undergraduate degree in sociology and human services and a master’s degree in social work and am licensed in the state of Virginia. I am an EMDRIA certified EMDR therapist—which means I have advanced training.  I also have training in meditation, mediation, ecotherapy, and rites of passage work.   I have a background in working with survivors of sexual assault and interpersonal partner violence.  I attend ongoing training in all areas of my practice and am committed to my own self-care.

Next Steps

If you are curious about what working together could look like, please contact me with any questions. I also offer a free 20-minute phone or video consultation to see if we are a good fit.

My therapeutic work and experiences have primarily been with women and gender-diverse people who are recovering from trauma. I welcome inquiries from those who have read this page and are curious if we are a match for working together.

Please note, I am considered an “out of network provider” with insurance companies. I can provide documentation (superbill) for you, by request, if you are filing on your own for reimbursement. I provide some sliding scale spots in an effort to keep mental health care and support in our community accessible to more people. I charge $145/50 minute session and $260/90 minute EMDR intensive session.

*As of January 2025 , my sliding scale spots are currently taken.
